In 2017, she graduated from Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain with M.A. in Artistic Production. She had been an exchange student at Central Academy of Fine Arts for 1 year in 2016 and took part in the residency program for 6 weeks in Jingdezhen, capital of porcelains.
Alicia names her creations “installation-painting” as an attempt to break the traditional concept of painting. These works study the chemical reaction caused by mixing gold foil and acrylic resin, resulting in abstract works characterized by transparency, ductility and teal tones. They can be folded, rolled, or wrinkled to adapt to their environment or media. Her works break the fixed frame on the canvas and extend the concept of painting into the concept of installation. Alicia’s creation engages work, space and audience to a dialogue, which resonates her style and concept.
