AYE Gallery present Hoo Mojong’s solo exhibition “La Vie Sur Papier” at the Visiting Sector of Beijing Gallery Weekend. This featured exhibition includes dozens of splendid paper works and oil paintings throughout her career living in Paris, including color ink paintings created from 1960s to 1970s, figures and still life sketches created in 1970s, and sketches of figures, still life and landscape created by using various materials such as watercolor, gouache, oil painting, ink and wash, pencil, crayon and pen from 1960s to 1990s. Hoo Mojong documented simple, quiet objects and scenes onto paper and bring them to life. Through these works, we experience her meticulous daily observations as if she had walked her life course alongside of us. The diary feature of the works also provides a significant visual archive for studying the artist and her creations. “La Vie Sur Papier” is an unpretentious and heartfelt artistic journey, and a journey of life.
